Old Weller Antique 107
Editor’s Note: Today, we have a review of the Old Weller Antique 107 by contributor Kristof Nerl.
A really well balanced nose of citrus and lacquered wood, something like a piano bar with cocktail stains lingering in the air. Awesome. It is nearly as sweet as a cocktail too. The taste is of fruity candy, then allspice and corn. By the last sip, I caught honey as well. The finish is subtle at first but crescendos longingly into a firework-like pop.
With so many flavors running around, the 107 proof is only partially evident with this guy. There is a bit of heat to the taste and finish, but I adore its character. This is one of the ultimate rebellious (and thus fun) bourbons and I think it has only been matched by Stagg in character. I would have loved to try it back when it still had a 7-year age statement.

good whisky
Agreed. I believe the Wellers (especially the 12 year) are really under-rated. Delicious. Different.
Personally, I believe this is one of the best bang for your buck whiskies available, topping many that are much higher priced.
